Today we visited the yet to open to the public Miu Miu flagship, and we were pleasently unsurprised: the store was gorgeous, the staff was gorgeous (and helpful and knowledgable to boot) and the pieces were not only gorgeous but most were exclusive to the flagship.
I swooned over black and deep red satin pumps with a ruched heel and oversize bow detail. Desserts and champagne were served but I was more intersted in previewing the private 3rd floor salon - the perfect venue for Coup de Coeur personal appointments. Above is shot of the store’s facade and below is sneak peak at the Resort 2009 look book.

We know where we’ll be shopping this holiday season, and starting tomorrow you can shop there too!

Georgia Tapert’s namesake home decor boutique recently opened its doors in Soho. Georgia has brought her design assistant experience and her passion for collecting treasures from around the world to her store, resulting in a fresh and well-edited selection with a wide variety of price points. A pair of Dorothy Draper designed screens ($9,000) and Andy Warhol drawings ($17,000) sit comfortably among Italian cotton herringbone throws from Lands Down Under (at only $110 and with a feel that the owner believes ”you would swear is cashmere”, they are a steal!).

The store is a great spot to pick up gifts: a cool memo pad with a silver-plated cover for your host/hostess ($25), a few Oscar de la Renta ikat photo frames for a friend’s birthday ($75-$110), or if you are in search of a wedding gift try architect designed FTF bamboo and Corian serving trays and butcher blocks ($375-$495), just to name a few of the Georgia’s favorites. This little shop is a wonderful addition to a neighborhood where it seems hard to find a happy medium between designer only and novelty. We’re sure you will find just the thing to delight yourself or if they are lucky, a friend.

Sucre, the ’sweetest’ treasure to be found in the ever-fashionable West Village, is a new boutique filled with a truly unique selection of clothing, accessories and eyewear. The eclectic mix of vintage baubles and emerging designers is the result of a collaboration between Selima Saloun of Selima Optique and buyer Candace Mohr. Candace, previously the head buyer of indie boutiques Patricia Field, Amy Chan and Girlshop.com, stocks her favorite labels such as Mooka Kinney, Jovovich Hawk, Shelley Steffee, Nicole Romano, and Gryphon.
Sucre also has a dream collection of jewelry and accessory designers including Mawi, Von Kottwitz and Lulu Frost, and a one-of-a-kind selection of vintage gems from Selima’s own private collection. Like their sister store, eyewear plays a starring role with colorful frames from Selima Optique sharing space with the latest offerings from Chloe, Lanvin and Tom Ford as well as indie brands such as K’subi and Karen Walker.
Mention Coup de Coeur’s Blog and receive a 10% off discount at Sucre! Offer expires January 31, 2008 and does not include sale merchandise.
